Attendance and absence

Excellent attendance is really important in order for your child to benefit from school and make the best possible progress.

Please ensure your child attends school every day and arrives on time.  Children should only be absent from school if they are really poorly. We have excellent pastoral care and qualified paediatric first aiders.  If your child is under the weather, please talk to their teacher who will be able to ensure they are looked after with lots of TLC! Please follow the below guide if your child is unwell.

Holidays in term time are no longer permitted (due to changes in the law on school attendance which came into effect from Sep 2013). We are unable to authorise time off for holidays and any holidays which are taken in term time will be recorded as unauthorised on the register and may result in a fixed penalty fine.

Please phone the office on 01706-648197, choosing option 1, before 9.00am on the first day of your child's absence. There is also a 24 hour answer machine facility. You can email the school office on Please make sure you write your child's full name in the message. Alternatively, you can use the Schudio app to inform us.

If you don't let us know why your child is off school, we have to record this as an unauthorised absence.
