Useful information
Reading Stars
Please read with your children every day (or at least 3 times a week) and once the child has finished their book they will need to do a quiz. If your child is choosing to do their home reading on MYON that is perfectly fine. There is a wide range of wonderful texts available tailored to their reading abilities. MYON is also monitored by the teaching team and reading stars are being recorded.
Once the children have read their school book they can complete comprehension reading tests online. They follow this link
https://ukhosted58.renlearn.co.uk/6711458 and log in. Once logged in they search for the book title and complete the quiz. The children are really excited about this in school so it would be nice to see them accessing this at home too.
TTRockstars
We are busy working on our times tables. TTRockstars is a really fun and engaging way for children to practise their times tables. Please encourage your child to access TTRockstars twice a week. Look out for class battles and challenges.
P.E
Children will need their PE kits in school on a Thursday for their PE lesson. Indoor PE kit (white t-shirt with plain blue or black shorts). Outdoor PE kit (including trainers).

P.E
Our PE day is Wednesday for both classes. 4C and 4H will be swimming on alternate Wednesdays. Please see below extra information regarding swimming. On PE days children need both indoor and outdoor kits as we will do a mixture over the term. Indoor - plain dark coloured shorts/leggings and a plain white t-shirt, Outdoor PE - As indoor plus trainers, and plain dark coloured tracksuit/fleece bottoms when the weather is cold.
No items of jewellery are to be worn during a PE lessons. If ears are newly pierced, they can be covered with a plaster. Thank you.
Homework
Children should read daily at home. Times tables, and practice of mental maths facts, are also an important part of homework - to learn your times tables with instant recall click here for TT Rockstars or click here for Table Mountain. Swimming
Swimming will take place on Wednesday mornings.
Boys must wear swim shorts above the knee and girls, a full swimming costume. A towel must be provided from home.
Rochdale baths will not permit children to wear earrings for lessons, therefore earrings must either be removed by the child in class prior to a swimming lesson starting, or removed by adults at home. However stud earrings can be covered up with a plaster, these must be provided by parents and applied at home.
We appreciate your support and involvement.
